The deal from Microsoft where college students can get a free Xbox 360 when buying a Windows 7 desktop or laptop for $699 or more has been extended to September 24. The deal originally was set to expire on September 3rd.
The Xbox 360 model that you get for free is the 4GB console which sells for $199. So college students which are now looking for a new Windows desktop or laptop might consider taking advantage of this deal.
With students returning back to college this month and next, they’ll have to spend a fair amount of money on textbooks. On average students spend about $900 each year on required books for their classes.
However in some fields with pre-med or pre-law classes, students may have to spend a whole lot more. The total cost for the required text for just a single class can exceed $200 or even $300.
Instead of buying textbooks directly from a college’s bookstore, there a few alternatives that can help students save hundreds of dollars a year.
Now there is another free option available to watch movies and shows legally online with Crackle. The site is owned by Sony and currently has over 250 movies and over 100 TV shows available.
Crackle was launched in 2007 but it originally charged $5 a month. However the service was made free recently and is now supported by ads instead.
